We we’re able to get our hands on a Can-Am Maverick for the first time last week and man was it a blast!
After launching our new sister site UTVFX Graphics last month we knew we would have to quickly expand our offerings to appeal to those who didn’t own a Polaris RZR, a side-by-side we have been doing graphics kits for with our previous RZRWraps.net brand. The next model UTV we wanted to tackle was the CanAm Maverick. So we started asking around to see if we could get our hands on one to template in our shop. Lo and behold our production manager, Steve, had a buddy with one sitting in his garage. Just a few days later it pulled into our shop, graphics-less, but still a pretty good looking machine.
Fortunately for the owner of this Maverick we are never truly satisfied with “pretty good looking”, so after completing the template for it we knew we couldn’t let this leave our shop without getting the full UTVFX treatment. The owner gave us the go ahead on a new graphics kit and gave us complete creative freedom to design what we wanted. Pretty rare thing for a customer to say in the graphics industry as everyone has different opinion of what looks good.
After mulling over some designs that involved pink unicorns and rainbows, we ultimately decided to revamp an older design called ‘Shred’, which was one of our top selling sled wrap designs with our ArcticFX Graphics brand. We felt that this was the perfect fit for this side-by-side project as the ‘Shred’ design falls into that middle range of not too crazy, but not so simple either. A safe bet when the customer just tells you “surprise me” and “whatever you think looks good.” Plus it has lightning incorporated into the design, which seems to always be a formula for success.
So we took our new Maverick template, the Shred design elements, some top industry logos like UTVUnderground, Fox, and RacerTech, and mixed them all together and the result was even better than we expected…
